365:066 good to go...

...not that a few dollars will take me far - and I'm only going as far as Omagh tomorrow anyway - but am tidying up the bureau tonight. I was emptying a travel purse and liked the shiny 2009 bucks. I have another sack of coins from European countries in the pre-euro days - francs, marks and lira etc. No idea why I've still got them since I'm really not a hoarder, but can't bring myself to part with them.

  1. You very rarely see a "silver dollar". Susan B. Anthony, I think?? There's something to be said for the paper dollar. You only need a few in your pocket and you think you have a fourtune. Bring back the pound note! (Certainly no chance of the one punt note coming back now.) I think I also have a two-dollar bill around here somewhere.

  2. And this ain't a silver one either - it's copper with a brassy mangaese layer. The Sacagawea Native Indian dollars - apparently the States released them last year along with a series of presidential ones. Too much info? More importantly - still not enough for a coffee! (would a two-dollar bill be as good as a nine-shilling note?)
